A father attempts to shield his daughter from a society where a pandemic has wiped out the world's female population.

"Light of My Life" is an atmospheric and methodical slow-burn. The mood is sombre throughout this post-apocalyptic tale, but there's a beautiful resonance in the extraordinary bond between a father and his daughter in such a bleak world. The lead performances are understated and woven into a narrative that takes its time to impart a heartfelt dialogue on morality, feminism and humanity. As we're drawn in to observe a little closer, it gradually becomes palpable this is a film with enormous emotional depth. Luminous.
