Kung Fu Panda 4

Po, the Dragon Warrior Panda, is called to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace and must take his staff of wisdom and train his replacement.

Kung Fu Panda 4 is the fourth instalment following an all-but-perfect trilogy. Awesomeness is becoming wearisomeness, the spiritual vibe has dissipated, the furious five are on sabbatical and a fart by the hero is what the hallmark humour has been reduced to. The fast action has devolved into a series of frantic battles, thankfully supported by stunning animation that lifts every scene. Unfortunately, what was once vibrant and infectious is starting to look like a video game. It was fun while it lasted, but inexplicably the production team are playing solely to young children. Pan duh.
