A Philadelphia police officer becomes obsessed with a serial killer whose crimes defy logic and explanation.

"In The Shadow Of The Moon" is an intriguing mystery that manages to shoot itself in the foot as it unfolds. This slow-moving production piques our interest early, only to run away with the threads of its own story, rendering it a convoluted mess. The actors do a fantastic job, especially our leading man; watching him unravel as the film progresses is fascinating and horrifying at the same time. The story has a solid moral core, but at the end of the day, the payoff for the time we invest doesn't feel worthwhile. Bad moon rising.
