Florence Foster Jenkins

Biography Drama

In 1950s New York, Florence Foster Jenkins is a wealthy and aspiring Opera singer who can't sing.

"Florence Foster Jenkins" is a playful reproduction of a somewhat delusional woman. While her intentions may be noble, this drab retelling, loosely inspired by a true story, reveals a self-absorbed aficionado with far too much time and money. Thankfully a delightful supporting cast are worthy of applause, their reactions are priceless, and a perpetual effort to uphold the illusion grants the most laughter. It's hard to sympathise with such ignorance, but the occasional moments of humour and disbelief work in vain to drown out the dull. An uninspiring voice.
