Following the death of his father, T'Challa returns home to the secret and technologically-advanced nation of Wakanda to take his place as King.

Super-slick and purring with style, "Black Panther" breaks new ground in the superhero genre - in almost every way that counts - particularly in design, polished action sequences, well-developed characters and an intricately grounded villain. However, some minor pacing issues and chaotic scenes restrict it from being top cat. While this film may not contain the first coloured superhero to feature on the big screen, the socio-political commentary woven throughout may make it the one to remember. Ready to pounce.
