Axolotl Overkill

Drama

Mifti, age 16, mourns her recently deceased mother by embarking on a path of self-destructive debauchery throughout Berlin.

"Axolotl Overkill" is a story of teenage angst and apathy in the extreme. The chaotic lives at its centre make for a confusing narrative that intentionally or not, compliments the disarray of the characters on screen. The director's keen sense of visuals is boosted by a pulsating Berlin soundtrack and a profound sense of dark humour that is intrinsically German. Although it's hard to discern the point of it all, this is a film sure to leave its audience asking questions after the credits roll. Übertöten.
