Asteroid City

A group of junior stargazers gather at a small desert town for a space convention.

"Asteroid City" is a country excursion that revels in the director's trademark style, a typically unconventional approach where the main story is actually a play, deviating in and out of the personal account of its playwright and production. The ensemble cast is full of stars, and they each do their best to bring the quirky material to life amongst the beautiful, barren landscape. While there are moments of deep reflection, they are far less memorable than that portrait of the titular town. Out of this world.
