All Day and a Night

After ending up in the same jail as the father he didn't want to end up like, a youth reflects on the life that led to his incarceration.

"All Day and a Night" is an earnest presentation of life in the hood, with some hip-hopping and ass-popping. The pace is a laidback doped up type of laconic with bursts of casual violence. It's hard to tell if we're watching real life as lived on the streets or real life as lived in the movies, possibly the latter as the story is familiar and screen writers can't resist looking for redemption.
